José Antonio Jiménez holds a Master’s Degree (LLM) in Corporate Reorganization, Insolvency and Corporate Finances from the University of Toronto, Canada. He has a Master’s Degree with a specialization in Corporate Law at the Universidad de Lima and a degree on Tax Law at the Universidad de Lima. He also has a degree on Corporate Management and Business Organization from ESAN, where he graduated first in his class. He is a graduate lawyer from Universidad Católica de Santa María (Arequipa), where he graduated with honors. His areas of expertise are Bankruptcy and Commercial Law, as well as Corporate Finance

He has participated in major corporate reorganization operations, both in the private and public sector (insolvencies, bankruptcy proceedings, transitory proceedings and liquidations), for a total amount of US $ 600 million in restructured debt. He has provided legal counsel to various financial institutions creditors of Total Artefactos S.A. ("La Curacao" stores) in the restructuring of more than US $ 15 million in debt, as well as the corporate reorganization of Corporación Fabril de Confecciones (COFACO) with a restructured debt of more than US $ 30 million under the scope of a transitory proceeding.

José Antonio Jiménez is a professor of Bankruptcy Law at the Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú Law School, and is a former professor of Financial Law at Universidad Peruana de Ciencias Aplicadas Business School.
He has also published several articles in law reviews, such as "Advocatus" and "Ius et Veritas".
He is a former senior associate and member of the area of Banking and Finance Law, and Bankruptcy Law, of Benites, De las Casas, Forno & Ugaz Law Firm.
